This broken picture frame was damaged in shipping. They didn’t even get a chance to hang it! Two of the sides needed repairing. Not only was the picture frame crushed, the wood was splintered, as well.
Metallic finishes are a completely different animal! Because it’s a wooden frame with a metallic finish, this repair had to be handled quite differently than regular repairs.
We glued the numerous loose pieces back together. That left a sincere void on top, which I filled. I filled the crushed area on the side. I crafted matching pigments (metallic finishes require several layers to get the right effect). To protect the repair, I sealed the finish with lacquer.
This art and its frame are finally ready to hang!
